Empower Field at Mile High Gameday: How to Get to a Broncos Game in Denver

The Denver Broncos beat the Los Angeles Rams 30-26 on Sunday night, another late comeback at Empower Field at Mile High and one of the most searched games of the weekend. If that game has you thinking about seeing the Broncos in person, the good news is that this is one of the easier NFL stadiums to reach without a car. The bad news is that stadium parking for the 2026 season is largely sold out. This guide covers the train, the parking that is still available, the bag rules and the home games left on the calendar.

Where the stadium is

Empower Field at Mile High sits at 1701 Bryant Street, just over two miles west of downtown Denver, across Interstate 25 from the Lower Highland neighborhood. According to Visit Denver, it seats 76,125 people over five levels and stands less than 50 feet from the site of the original Mile High Stadium, at an elevation of 5,280 feet, exactly one mile above sea level. The Ring of Fame Plaza outside has 38-foot steel monuments for each member of the Broncos’ Ring of Fame, and you can see it on your way in.

The Broncos home games still left in 2026

These are the remaining regular-season home dates on the Broncos’ official 2026 schedule. All times are Mountain Time.

  • Seattle Seahawks: Thursday, October 15, 6:15 p.m. (Thursday Night Football)
  • Kansas City Chiefs: Sunday, November 1, 2:25 p.m.
  • Las Vegas Raiders: Sunday, November 22, 2:25 p.m.
  • Miami Dolphins: Sunday, December 6, 2:05 p.m.
  • Buffalo Bills: Friday, December 25, 2:30 p.m. (Christmas Day)
  • Los Angeles Chargers: Saturday, January 9, or Sunday, January 10, date and time to be announced

NFL kickoff times can move, especially late in the season, so confirm the time on the Broncos’ website before you book flights. The November 1 date is the same day the clocks fall back an hour, which is worth knowing if you are flying in that weekend; our guide to what changes for travelers when the clocks fall back explains how it affects flight times.

Getting there by light rail

A white RTD light rail train with orange and red stripes waiting at a station platform in Denver, its destination sign reading Union Station, under a blue sky with overhead power lines.

The simplest way to the stadium is RTD light rail. The C, E and W lines stop at Empower Field at Mile High Station, right next to the stadium. If you are coming from the airport or the northern suburbs, the A, B, G and N lines run to Denver Union Station, where you can change for the stadium. For the preseason opener in August, RTD said it would add rail cars to the C, E, W and N lines to cope with the crowds, and it runs regular scheduled service on game days.

You can buy a day pass in the MyRide app, or tap a contactless Visa or Mastercard, or a phone wallet, at the validator with Tap-n-Ride. Either way you skip the ticket machine lines at Union Station. RTD also suggests typing “Broncos” as the destination in its NextRide trip planner, which lists the train and bus options from wherever you are. Several bus routes also run near the stadium, among them the 1, 15L, 16, 30 and 31.

Expect the platforms to be crowded after the final whistle. RTD asks riders to be patient after the game, and if you are not in a hurry, it is often easier to have a drink in Lower Highland or around Union Station and let the first wave go.

Parking: what is left

The Broncos say that pre-purchased stadium parking permits for 2026 are sold out. On game days you still have a few options:

  • Lot C (Ford F-150 lot): $55 a space, credit card only. It opens six hours before kickoff and is expected to sell out within the hour.
  • Lot A carpool section: $45 for a vehicle carrying four or more people.
  • Accessible parking: first come, first served, at $35 in Lot L or $40 in Lots D and G.
  • Off-site lots: other nearby lots, including those at Ball Arena and the Auraria Campus, sell game-day parking. Prices and opening times vary.

The stadium lots open four and a half hours before kickoff, apart from Lot C. Tailgating is allowed in all of them, but glass, kegs and open flames are banned, and you cannot set up in the drive aisles. The whole stadium is cashless, including the parking booths, concessions and the team store, so bring a card or a phone that can pay.

Rideshare

Drop-off is at the northeast corner of the stadium, near Gate 5. Pickup after the game is in the Ball Arena lot at 5th and Walnut, about a 15-minute walk east, according to the Broncos. Set your pickup point before you leave your seat, because it is not by the gate you came in through.

Bags, entry and what to leave at home

Empower Field follows the NFL’s clear-bag policy. You can bring one clear bag no larger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches, or a one-gallon clear freezer bag, plus a small clutch no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches. Backpacks, large purses, coolers, briefcases, camera bags and seat cushions are not allowed. The stadium’s own advice is to bring no bag at all if you can manage without one.

Other items on the banned list include outside alcohol, which can get you ejected without a refund, glass and stainless steel bottles, cans, lithium-ion battery packs larger than 3 by 6 by 1 inches, and loose AA, C or D batteries. There is no re-entry: once your ticket has been scanned and you leave, you cannot come back in.

General gates open about two hours before kickoff, and club and suite ticket holders get in earlier. The Broncos’ “Know Before You Go” page gives the exact times for each game, so check it on the day.

Making a weekend of it

Lower Highland, or LoHi, is the neighborhood just north of the stadium, with restaurants, rooftop views of the skyline and plenty of pregame energy. Around Union Station and LoDo you will find the bars and breweries that fill up before and after games, among them Wynkoop Brewing Company. If you are not driving, a hotel near Union Station puts you one train change from the stadium and within walking distance of downtown.

For evening games in October and later, check the forecast before you pack: Denver weather can swing quickly, and you will be sitting outside for more than three hours. If you are building a season of road trips, our guides to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City and SoFi Stadium, the Rams’ home in Inglewood, cover two of the Broncos’ rivals the same way.
