North Carolina hosts No. 3 Notre Dame on Saturday, October 3, at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill. Kickoff is at noon on ESPN, and it is Notre Dame’s first trip to Chapel Hill since 2022. This is also the 100th season of Kenan Stadium, so expect a lively gameday on and around campus.

Saturday’s gameday timeline

According to UNC Athletics, tailgating and the Coca-Cola Fan Zone open at 9 a.m., the Old Well Walk starts at 9:30 a.m. and a Chase Rice concert begins at 10 a.m. Kenan Stadium gates open at 10:30 a.m., and every fan gets a rally towel for the 100th season.

Tar Heels home games still to come

After Notre Dame, UNC’s home schedule lists Syracuse on October 24, Miami on October 31, Louisville on November 14 and N.C. State on November 28. Kickoff times for the first three were still to be announced when this was written.

Parking near Kenan Stadium

Public parking is sold per game through ParkMobile: $35 pre-paid or $40 on gameday if spaces are left. The lots are 700 Hibbard, Branson Street, Cardinal Deck, Jackson Deck, Manning Lot and South Chiller Lot. All gameday parking sales are final. Cars left in reserved areas after 8 a.m. on gameday are relocated, with a $125 relocation fee plus a $50 citation.

UNC warns of traffic delays on home football days, especially in the hour and a half before kickoff, and some campus roads are restricted before and after games.

Park and ride with the Tar Heel Express

The simplest option is to skip campus parking. Parking is free at the Friday Center Park and Ride and at Southern Village, and the Tar Heel Express shuttle costs $10 round trip, with children five and under riding free. Shuttles leave the Friday Center three hours before the game and Southern Village two hours before. They drop off and pick up on South Road in front of Carmichael Arena and Woollen Gym, and return shuttles run continuously for about 45 minutes after the game. Passes are sold in advance through GoFan at select lots, by card only.

Charter buses and RVs can park free at the Friday Center lot. RVs may arrive after 6 p.m. on Friday and must leave by 5 p.m. on Sunday, with no hookups or generators.

Rideshare and accessible parking

Rideshare and taxis can drop off and pick up along the South Columbia bus lane, between Manning Drive and South Road. From there, UNC lists a five-minute walk via Fordham Hall, the Health Education Center and the Genome Sciences Building to the Rams Club and the Tar Heel Tailgate, near Gate 5.

Accessible parking is at the Ambulatory Care Center lot for $40 per vehicle, card only. Accessibility shuttles serve Gates 2 and 6 from three hours before the game until 10 minutes after kickoff.
